RVK BRewing is Born out of passion for great beer

RVK Brewing Company was born out of pure and simple passion for good beer. After working for years in the New York City finance sector our founder Siggi found out his true passion; Good Beer. And making it. And spreading out the word about good beer in Iceland.

It all started in 2017 and the first beer was brewed in May 2018 in the “Old Brewery” - with a 5 HL system and 40 HL fermenntation space. Our taproom opened soon after. Almost from day one we have not been able to brew enough beer to meet demand, so in 2021 work started on the “New Brewery”, which opened in July 2022. It has a 15 HL system with 300 HL fermentation space and all the latest technology to ensure our production is first class.

In 2024 we are scheduled to open a new Tap Room in “Tonabio” - an old Cineama converted into a Bingo Hall, and now a first class establishment to come sample our beers. Both breweries and Tonabio are located in the same location, in Skipholt 31 and 33, close to downtown Reykjavik. This is our home territory, this is the heart of great craft beer in Reykjavik.

But all this would not have been possible without great People. Our passion is beer and our Team is passionate about beer. Our success is down to their creativity, commitment and drive for quality. To them we say “Skál!”.

Beer was only allowed in Iceland in the late eighties. Until then we could only have it abroad or have it smuggled into the country, and the first beers to arrive were just ok. So the story of craft beer in Iceland is pretty short. Our story is even shorter, although we’ve achieved a lot in this short time. We set out to write some of the next chapters in Iceland’s beer history. The ingredients are all here. The passion is all here. Come check us out!
